Crazy Laws ~~ Georgia

Throughout history there have been laws passed and laws removed from the books. Depending on what era you grew up in, I'm sure all the laws made sense at that time. As time has progressed, some of the laws that could be deemed crazy, weird, or just plain stupid have managed to slip through the filter and remain intact.

These are a few of the crazy laws that are still on books in these here United States of America, Georgia.

1.   'Sadomasochistic abuse' means flagellation or torture by or upon a person who is nude or clad in undergarments or in revealing or bizarre costume or the condition of being fettered, bound, or otherwise physically restrained on the part of one so clothed.... So,  it could possibly be applied to a person handcuffing another in a clown suit.

2.  All sex toys are banned.

3.  It is illegal to use profanity in front of a dead body which lies in a funeral home or in a coroners office.

4.  Members of the state assembly cannot be ticketed for speeding while the state assembly is in session.

5.  Donkeys may not be kept in bathtubs.

6.  No one may carry an ice cream cone in their back pocket if it is Sunday.  Any other day it is fine, I guess??

7.  In Acworth, all citizens must own a rake.

8.  Owners of mules may not allow their animal to roam around Athens unsupervised.

9.  It is illegal for one to make a disturbing sound at a fair.  Leave the noises up to the livestock!

10.  Signs are required to be written in English.
